London Calling 2023

Tickets and Supporters Packs Are Now On Sale!

Attendees at London Calling 2021

We’re pleased to say that the tickets and supporters packs for London Calling 2023 launched last Saturday at the Official UK Mega in the West Midlands. We’re following a very similar format to London Calling 2021 and retaining the same ticket pricing.

Tickets, which will enable entry to the venue and access to the vendors, log book, trackable table and the on-site adventure lab caches, will be £5 in advance, and £10 at the door for adults. They are available here: Adult Ticket – London Calling 2023

Children under the age of 15 are able to enter for free, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. We would ask, however, just for number tracking, if you could “purchase” a free child’s ticket here: Child Ticket – London Calling 2023

Supporters Packs come in three levels, Bronze, Silver and Platinum.

Bronze Packs are £15, and contain the bronze version of the event geocoin (not the Sherlock Holmes/Signal the Frog geocoin) as well as three out of the set of five of the wood coins. Available here: Bronze Supporters Pack

Silver Packs are £45, and contain the bronze and silver versions of the event geocoin (not the Sherlock Holmes/Signal the Frog geocoin), four out of the set of five of the wood coins, a t-shirt exclusive to the silver/platinum packs and our first pathtag. Available here: Silver Supporters Pack

Platinum Packs are £75, and contain the bronze, silver and platinum versions of the event geocoin (not the Sherlock Holmes/Signal the Frog geocoin). Additionally, the platinum version of the event geocoin will not be on sale individually. Also included is the full set of five wood coins, a t-shirt exclusive to the silver/platinum packs, our first pathtag, a platinum pack exclusive extag/aardtag, a platinum pack exclusive embroidered beanie hat and of course, 30 minutes early access to the venue from 10:30am onwards. Available here: Platinum Supporters Pack

Our New Geocoins Are On Sale!

We’re pleased to announce that our new Signal the Frog geocoins are on sale. As with the run-up to London Calling 2021, we have produced a set of London-inspired Signal coins. Last time around we had Signal dressed as a Queen’s Guardsman, and this time with London Calling 2023 going to Marylebone near Baker Street, what else could we do but have Signal as Sherlock Holmes.

The coins come in three varieties; the Polished Gold and Polished Silver versions are both inlaid with enamel and are available individually for £13 each. The Antique Bronze version comes without enamel and is only available as part of a set of three with the Gold and Silver for £40. All three coins are 50mm in length and feature the London Calling 2023 logo on the reverse. The coins come with a custom trackable icon.

Go to our online store to place your orders now. The coins are available for worldwide delivery, as well as for collection at any London Calling on Tour events or at this year’s Piratemania or the UK Mega in the West Midlands. If placing an order for collection, please send us a message to let you know where you intend to pick up the coin.

We’re Going on Tour!

One of the things we’d planned to do back when we were organising London Calling 2021 was the Tin Pan Alley Band Reunion Tour. For those who aren’t in London, the TPAB was a very fun geocache set as you might imagine, just off Denmark Street in London in the area nicknamed “Tin Pan Alley“. Sadly after it amassed a thousand favourite points, sadly it had to be archived in 2015 because of the redevelopment of the area.

So for 2021 we decided to take it on tour. We had those guitar picks made up (with thanks to LaserLogoShop over in Germany), we held our first event at the Museum of London where they were running a Clash exhibition at the time, and then our Chair headed off to Dubai for the first overseas tour date. It also turned out to be the only tour date, because well, Covid.

Tin Pan Alley Band Auditions at the Museum of London in early 2000

We’re excited to be bringing you in the run up to London Calling 2023, a series of tour events simply called “London Calling on Tour”. We’re not doing any special additional merchandise during the tours, although we’re going to make tour t-shirts available shortly before the Mega should anyone want one. These will have tour dates on the back as with a traditional tour t-shirt.

We’ll be sure to advertise the tour events on our social media, and we’ll be adding them to the London events calendar here. We’ve created a special category specially for these as unlike the other events listed on that calendar, these won’t necessarily be in London. They will, however, have the location in the title of the event, so you should be able to easily tell.

The first event listed is going to be on Saturday 18th June in Leigh-on-Sea, England, at the train station. Sure it’s not the United Arab Emirates, but it’s still near to a beach. So that counts! A couple of our committee members will be there, so come down and say hi and we’ll talk your heads off about our plans for 2023. Log a will attend here.

The London Calling 2023 Listing Is Live!

We’re pleased to announce that the Geocaching.com listing for London Calling 2023 is now live, and you can log your Will Attends now by clicking on the button below.

We’re also able to highlight that we can already announce two of the side events over the next May Day bank holiday weekend – we have our Saturday evening event which will also take place at St Mary’s in Marylebone, and then the Sunday morning Cache in Trash Out (CiTO) event which will be held once again on Wimbledon Common. These will be published six months prior to the Mega, so expect to see these event listings go up around the end of October.

We are having a new round of Signal Coins produced, and these will be ready prior to Piratemania this year. We’ll make sure to have the option to collect these at both this summer’s Mega-events (normal shipping options, including international shipping, will be available too).

Tickets for London Calling 2023 will be £5 for adults as before; these and the supporter’s packs will be up on the online store next weekend.

Keep an eye out for further news on side events that’ll be springing up both in London and around the world.

See you at London Calling 2023. Less than a year to go!!!

Announcing The London Calling 2023 Launch Event

We are pleased at London Calling to announce the Community Celebration launch event for our next big event coming next year. The launch is taking place on Saturday 19th March, between 1 pm and 3 pm. This will be at the Metropolitan Bar, which is adjacent to the entrance of Baker Street station and right next to the Sherlock Holmes statue. The location is a popular haunt for London events, with many a monthly meet upheld there.

What are we announcing? Well firstly, we’ll be able to tell you all about our venue, two of the three side events and exactly when we’re going to be taking place. It’s all very exciting for us, and we’re really pleased to be able to bring you all this news.

So head on over to the Geocaching.com listing at https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC8Q9EV_london-calling-2023-the-launch to register your Will Attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

London Calling 2023 is coming!

It has been something often alluded to, but we are now in a position to announce that London Calling is indeed returning in 2023. There are few details to announce at present, other than we have a contract signed with a venue for both the main Mega event as well as the same location for an evening event on the Saturday too.

So what can you expect from London Calling 2023? All the things you loved about London Calling 2021, plus all-new activities to enjoy. We had a whole bunch of plans that were derailed by Covid, and we’ll be looking to use some of those at long last.

We’re awaiting the publication of a Community Celebration to take place in mid-March to officially launch our little event properly, and there we’ll announce both the new date and the new venue. The Geocaching.com listing can only go live up to a year in advance, but after we announce the date, you’ll know how long you have to wait for that.

For us, now the work continues on everything else to do with the Mega. So expect to see us at this year’s Piratemania and the UK Mega in the West Midlands with all-new London Calling 2023 merchandise, and popping up around the country (and the world perhaps) at other events.

For more information, keep an eye on our social media links, and the London Calling 2023 page here. If you’re a vendor or potential sponsor and would like to get in touch with us, you can do so via our contact form here.

Planning has been underway for a while now and we’re getting closer to an announcement. So any funds help us out immensely and you might get something back for it if you’re lucky enough.

A big thank you to our sponsors, Groundspeak, for providing us these Premium Memberships to give away.

New Website Finally Complete

We’re pleased to say the transition to the new hosting and website design is finally finished, and this now stands us in good stead for our future events. Thank you to all of you for your patience. While the majority of the site is basically the old site but under a new design, we are intended to expand the site over time based on what you would like to see.

We have already added a new events page here, which shows a calendar of all the events coming up within London. If you click on any of the listings on that calendar and then click on “More information” it’ll take you straight to the Geocaching.com listing for that event. The colour code is red for other events/community celebrations, green for other Cache in Trash Out (CiTO) events, and all London Calling related events will be in yellow.

Also, if you scroll to the bottom of any page, you’ll see a list of the next few geocaching events coming up in London. If you click on the name of the event there, it’ll take you straight to the event listing on Geocaching.com.

If you spot that we’ve missed an upcoming event, let us know by sending us a message using the Contact Us form here. Or just let us know about any new features you’d like to see on our site.

New Website On the Way

We’re just in the midst of organising the new website, so you might see a few changes over the course of the next few days/week. We’ve taken on board some of the feedback, especially with regards to the integration in relation to the online store and we hope that the new arrangements will work a lot better than the store we used for LC21.

One of the additional features is that we’re looking to host an ongoing calendar of geocaching events in London. This can be seen on our events page here.

As always, please send us any feedback you may have via the contact form.

London Calling 2021

Less Than A Month To Go!

The London Calling committee has been hard at work behind the scenes, bringing together London’s first-ever Mega event. We were at Piratemania last weekend, we’ll be at the Official UK Mega in Lincoln next weekend and then we’ll be going full steam ahead into London Calling 2021.

Two of the three side events have already been published, with the third coming in the next few days. On Friday 27th August, you’ll find us at St Martin in the Fields (just off Trafalgar Square) between 6 pm and 8 pm for “To The Underworld” (https://coord.info/GC9EBPC). On Sunday morning, look out for Wombles during our CiTO on Wimbledon Common for “A Wombles Work Is Never Done” (https://coord.info/GC9BW1D).
